Hey Ed, it's good to see you back. I have my 86 C4 just about completed. My D1 ProCharger and Intercooler install went perfectly. I'm installing the gauges now as well. I have the AEM Boost, Wide Band Air/Fuel Ratio and the Fuel Pressure Gauges that I'm in the process of installing now. I just got done installing my 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" Long Tube Stepped American Racing Headers with the 3" XPipe and Exhaust system with no cats or EGR. I had to remove the intake manifold, this past Friday, because I had a vacuum leak and I'll be re-installing that tomorrow. Also, my headers came with two O2 bungs and so I have my stock narrow band O2 sensor installed on one side, which goes into my ECU, and on the other side I have the Wide Band O2 sensor installed for my A/F Gauge. So, like you, I can't wait to get this thing out on the street and RIP THE SHIT OUT OF IT, after I brake in the engine and tranny rebuild! [Edit] By the way, I upgraded my rear axle. I swapped out the Dana 36 with 2.59:1 gear ratio with a Dana 44 with 3.45:1 gear ratio. This will give me quite a bit more bottom end get up and go compared to the Dana 36. Take care Ed and I'll be watching for your next video! Sincerely, Rich Williams Astor, Florida 32102 USA!
That is awesome news Rich. l hear from other C4 Corvette guys that the D1 is sweet. It's the step up from my Procharger P600B. Living in California that was not an option for me because it's not 50 state legal. You’re going to love the Dana 44. I was lucky because all the stick shift came stock with a dana 44. Except I have the 3:07 gear ratio. Everything I have left to do is done. Had to pull off the clamp-on bung (gasket fail), but I just got back my Y pipe today with a bung welded on, I just need to install it, then I'm ready. What are you doing for timing? You have the stock ECM? How you backing off timing for the boost?
@@CorvetteEdsGarage I'm not sure yet. The stock ECU is supposed to be able to deal with timing and that's what the Knock sensor is part of, but after watching your video I looked up the MSD BTM. I haven't had a chance to research it yet but I did notice the price! It is expensive as you exclaimed in your video. We'll see what happens after I get it on the road. If the factory ECU doesn't do the job then it's MSD time. Also, I got the TunerPro software that can edit the OBD1 chip and I might be able to wire in the output from my Wideband O2 sensor. Still have a lot of research to do so I know what I need to do. There is a lot of info on Corvette forum and many websites about the OBD1 system and many knowledgeable people still involved in the OBD1 stuff. I need to pick their brains for information.
@@Space-Stuff I'm getting ready to download TunerPro RT myself. Since I have the MSD BTM all I need is the datalogging for the tuning. And yes Holley/MSD don't play nice anymore on prices! LOL I understand that the other TunerPro has the ability to flash a new chip with the equipment. I hear Moates is back in business too, I’m getting ready to order the cable for the OBD1 to run TunerPro RT. I would be interested in how you tied in the wideband to TunerPro. I haven't got to that point yet. What is your handle on the Cforum and have you started build post? Mine is "corvted".
